Stephanie, there are two videos (really there just for the sound track!) and I'm not sure why you can't see them. Maybe it's just a Blogger mystery. In case you never get to see them the first is of birds singing first thing in the morning, and the second is of frogs croaking in the evening. Lots and lots of frogs...
Welcome to Mucky Boots Farm! In 2009 we left our jobs as Math and Science teachers and moved to a 2.5 acre property in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, with a raised-bed vegetable garden, greenhouse, orchard, chickens and perennial gardens, in order to realize our dream of a saner, calmer life more rooted in reality than in the drama of city living, all-consuming jobs and the ever-increasing accumulation of belongings. That really freaked the cats and dog out. They all went up to the window frames and checked if we'd had a sudden climatic change of heart.
Alas. That was a wonderful reminder of what spring sounds like.
